About SnuckleSaks

SnuckleSaks Baby Slings came into being when my first child was a baby about six years ago.   He was a happy baby as long as he was being held.   I had a couple of slings that had been passed down to me.   Once I got the hang of how to use a sling, they were what enabled me to meet my son's need for closeness, frequent nursing and contact while allowing me to take care of myself and my tasks.

Once I knew that slings were "it" for us, I began a search for the perfect sling.  I looked for a sling that had all the simplicity, adjustability, security, breastfeeding ability, comfort, and style that I longed for.  Often I was wearing my baby in a sling all day long.

Eventually, I decided to make a sling myself.   My SnuckleSaks didn't take long to catch on.  Soon I was taking a business course and feeling grateful to have found a way to create an income, doing something I loved.

People often ask how I came up with the name SnuckleSaks.   My husband used to say as he handed our fussing son to me "He needs you for a snuckle".   Around that time a friend asked me with gentle curiosity  "do you still carry him in that baby sack?".  The term SnuckleSaks was born.  I thought it was perfect because in essence, a sling is a baby sack.  In fact that is why babies soothe so well in slings. They mimic the sack they were in while in the womb.  Slings are very comforting to babies for this reason.

I have two children now, ages six and two.  Both of them were sling babies.  You can see pictures of my husband and I slinging our babies along with many other SnuckleSaks parents in the Photo Gallery.

From my family to  yours, happy slinging and may you create lovely moments and memories in your sling.
