We know you and your little one will love using a sling, but like everything else, it takes practice.  If you ever need advise, please feel free to contact us any time!  In the meantime, here are some tips to help you get comfortable:

Put your baby in the sling for the first time when she is in good spirits so you can experiment with different positions.  When you find a position that works for both of you, bounce her a bit.  With a little practice, babywearing will soon become second nature to both of you!

The rings on the front of the sling should sit at the front of your shoulder - if the rings travel while positioning, start with the rings on top of your shoulder.

At first, try putting your baby in the sling while standing in front of a mirror.

Keep moving!  When first learning to use your sling or to soothe a fussy baby, movement is key.

Get into the habit from the start of alternating shoulders... you'll be glad you did!

If the top rail of the sling is loose when your baby is intitially put in the sling, pull the corresponding edge of fabric in the tail in order to secure your baby.

Wear your baby fairly high on your chest, not on your abdomen.

If you are lifting your shoulders or arching your back, tighten the sling.  Lift and support your baby with one hand while you tighten the sling around her.

Rethread the tail through the rings if you are having trouble adjusting the sling or if the tail is twisted through the rings.  See Sling Instruction Booklet for details.

Most babies love the Upright carrying position!
